My biggest single wish for boards like this is to have the option to view topics alphabetically rather than by last post.....
The second is to be able to delete posts.
Maybe I haven't yet spotted the functions yet, but I certainly find it frustrating.
I've changed two entries because I didn't spot the originals until after I'd posted.
Hope this helps.

Thank you antinomy, we have changed the downline
building forum, so now it is in ascending order.
Maybe we could have a automatically delete of the
topics in the more active forums after one week or so.
(it's too early to do that now, but in a while maby).
That way our members can build both deep And wide,
plus it gives more members the same opportunity
to build in the same program.
Thank you very much for your input. :)

y not display the topics according to "last post" time?
Andre
02-10-2004, 01:46 PM
Well, this is only for the P2R/P2C part of the Downline Building forum.
We may change that back to last post soon.
We did this mostly for u guys, to prevent duplicates better,
and ... Well mostly that :D
Don't know yet if this is the best solution 4 all.

Yup,the "alphabetical method" is quite suitable for the situation when there's only few posts(topics) in certain thread ,however, along with more and more posts coming into existence,it seems there's no need to show in that way any longer...

I personally like the PTR section in alphabetical order (as in the titles of the programes) as its so much easier to find the programe u are looking for then. Everyone is different but for me I browse thru it page by page in order each time I come in to see any new ones or changes.
Once the threads get longer is it possible to have the "Title" in that order but the actual "replys" or "posts" in each one as last post first shown? I supose that way when new members join they do not have to scroll all the way thru to find the curent link to join under.

Thanks for your inputs.
We will just have to listen to what all of you have to say,
and then make up our mind to the best for everybody.
Hopefully some one else also have a oppinion on this
subject.

Yes, I think that is possible, We will try to fix that - Good idea!

Now that we have the major PTRs set up, I take on Sun's point that for the hot movers, it's good to see it in date order...
I know you can do that simply by a search... If I could get my wish it would be to have buttons along the top for
a) the alphabet - to go directly to a particular letter/number's listing
B) by last time stamp - eg the last new posting to the topic (how getpaidforum run there's
As you'll have noted, GPF have huge problems with new prog alerts because the search is unwieldy... My suggestion is to have a separate folder for just formed PTRs - eg released in the last 24-48 hours or less than 100 members... Would this help solve the problem?

We have changed it back to orign state now.

Sorry, but this could not be done :(

So I noticed :(
I was just trying to find a programe with the search and took me 3 go's as I did not know the corect spelling of the name :o
I like antinomy's idea about buttons to go to the letter of the alphebet..is that possible?
As far as I can see there's no built in sort function to handle this.
It sounds like a nice feature, but since we are not coders I don't think it's possible at this point.
If you don't quite remember the name you could try searching for just part of the words. For instance: If you search for tige or erad in the downline builder forum you would get tigerads as search result. (I think each search must be 4+ chars).

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH the anguish!
I fear that new members will only see the first one or two pages and get bored to look at the rest...however..if forced alphabetacly they will look thru them all to see if their programes are posted..as they want to add their own....while looking u notice ones u not in...so u join them
they may not bother to look past the first 2 pages "thinking" they old posts and over and done with
just a thought :)
Andre

Thanks VamPvixen, we have though about that our self too.
I am not sure, but I think that the ones that want to jump on
a "hot mover" will like this way better, and the ones that want
to make some good money out of gptr probably will enroll in
most of your programs anyway.
I think we have to test this a little longer :( , and if what you
are saying is better, we must of course change back :)

thats fine!
it is better to explore all avanues first
im just worried that new members will only look at recent psts and ignore the others
but lets see what happens and watch the stats
if it dont owk can we go back? lOL

ok i got to edit that!
I feel that new members will look at the first page or 2 and ignoer the rest (THINKING THEY OLD THREADS)
i mean..u join..ur new...u wanna got thru 15 pages???????????????????????
then the rest of the forum...hmmmmmmm
some will .............others will not
maybe its good as those that do r obviouskly dedecated
however if they think they gonna get here nd get a downline...as u do! they see the first 2 pages at most
they then think errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
but bing forced to view all of the theads in order to find one...u see ones u not in....so u join them
im just saying this from what i think a newbe will think when faced with so many threads
ok now shoot me to flames!

Ok, what I suggest is that you discuss this with antinomy and sunmax,
and you three find the best sulution for this problem. You guys are the
most experienced in this field.
We should probably do something more out of the gptr forum,
What u say?

Can you add a downline builder for randomizers? ;)
Andre

Hi sonusunny, and welcome to Downline4All :D
Yes, we can do that.
I think that is a good idea.

What a fantastic forum you have here!!! I found it through an e-mail ad I got through NetWealthCreator. Guess that goes to show you that e-mail ads work ;)
Keep up the great work.
God Bless You!

Hi
I also think you have a nice forum here.
It will only get better as time progresses.
We all just have to be patient.
Just remember, Rome was'nt built in a day. :D
I am sure that the Admin will glean a lot of
good ideas that they will incorporate as time
allows. Just remain active in the forum and
that will help a lot, much like a pair of new
shoes. Ya gotta break em in ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome! :D
You might consider adding an area for posting alerts of scams, or new virus outbreaks.
By working together we are more able to protect one another from
unscrupulus people and businesses. Just a suggestion. ;)
Whether or not that category would be added, anyone not sure about an opp
should post it here in the forum where we could have an open discussion over
the pros and cons of it and then individuals might be able to make a more
informed decision. :D
There is always safety in numbers, people looking out for one another is always a good thing. :D :D

You might consider adding an area for posting alerts of scams
I think this is dangerous.. It can really do damage to a new company.
Sometimes people do the strangest things..
Whether or not that category would be added, anyone not sure about an opp
should post it here in the forum where we could have an open discussion over
the pros and cons of it and then individuals might be able to make a more
informed decision.
I do agree with you on this. You should allways ask someone before joining
something new, you never know. It does not hurt do be a little critical.
we have thought about this, and we will probably add a forum or two for
company discussions. We definitely see a need for this.
In time, you will also see that our MLM Leaders Corner will grow.
More companies will be added and valuable and honest info. will be there ;)
About virus alerts, not a bad idea at all I think, maby we can come
up with something clever here. I know that symantech has some
greate features for it. I'll look in to it, and talk to the rest.
Thanks for helping :)

Just a couple of things I have noticed that might need some tweaking.
First, in the downline builder, I have noticed that user "paidemail2read" have a
duplicate post with regards to galactic gold traffic exchange. How come it's not
delete, to avoid confusion by newbies.
Second, still in the downline builder, some user have started 5 or more posting
which gives them an advantage with someone who have not visited this forum or
might be just starting.
Maybe you guys should limit the posting to 3-4 per user to level the playing field
and leave room to those who don't have alot of experience with downline building.
That's all. Thanks for listening.
Andre

Hi Lifestylenetworker, and welcome to Downline4All. :)
About the duplicate, I guess no one have seen this,
it will of course be removed (thanks).
Maybe you guys should limit the posting to 3-4 per user to level the playing field
and leave room to those who don't have alot of experience with downline building.
We have bean thinking a lot about this, the whole
point of the community is to try our best to make
it a fair Downline for ALL..
Not only the more experienced, but also the newbies
too. This is not as easy as one would think,
because this would also limit your abillity to start
threads on several other places on the board.
(not only the downline builders), some sort of rotation
system is the closest we have gotten to a fair thing
for everybody.
But like I said, this is dificult.. The community is very
new, and we have of course lots of plans for it.
I am sorry to say that right now we will all just have
to deal with the "first come - first serve" .
Ps. as soon as the next version is finished for this
board we will have many usefull modifications that
will be helpfull for all.
Thank you very much for your thoughts about this.
