View Full Version : "Why the majority of people QUIT Network Marketing

I will never forget the very first person I signed up
into my Network Marketing program.

I had been in about 30 days and I finally got my best
friend to fork over $100 and buy the starter kit.

Thirty days later he quit.

I asked him why and he said:

"Robert, I have worked hard for 30 days with you in
this venture and I have not received a pay check yet!"

It was clear to me that he had not grasped the concept
of being an Entrepreneur and that in the Bureaucratic
world, you get paid a fixed amount of money for a set
number of hours.

I call it:

Bureaucratic World vs. Entrepreneurial World

He still had not made the transition from one world to
another.

He WANTED to get out of his dead end job.
He WANTED to have more time freedom.
He WANTED to call his own shots.

But, he was STUCK with the mindset that he works 40
hours and he gets paid 40 hours.

I find most of the prospects I talk to that DO NOT join
my program are afraid of moving from one world to
another.

Let's face it...

The Bureaucratic World is PREDICTABLE.

It may not be your dream job, but it pays your bills
and satisfies your need for food and shelter.

When that becomes a HABIT over a number of years you
will find it almost IMPOSSIBLE to get that type of
person to even take a look at what you are doing.

Those are the kind of people who eventually join and
build a program after they have used your product and
service and have fallen in love with it.

They are too SCARED to do the business, they think, but
they will talk to everyone they know about the product
or service that changed their lives.

In the safe comfort of the Bureaucratic World sits many
a future Network Marketing Star.

Some have called those folks the:

"Land of Unrecruited Heavy-Hitters!"

I agree.

I LOVE talking to people who have NEVER been in a
Network Marketing program before.

They are much easier to sign up and keep.
They are loyal.
They are not KNOW IT ALLS.

They do not jump to another program just because it is
newer and pays out 5% more on level 2.

Why do most people quit Network Marketing?

Simple.

They tried to step from one world to another and they
feel uncomfortable.

They worked HARD (as my best friend told me 22 years
ago) and did not get a paycheck.

The funny thing is that he did not LIFT A FINGER his
first 30 days.

I had begged him to go to every meeting and to give me
a list of names to call, etc.

He did nothing and got nothing.

Yet in his MIND he told me he had WORKED the business
for 30 days and it just was not for him.

Sound familiar?

It happens to me every month.

A real GO-GETTER calls me and joins, and is going to
set this THING on fire.

30 days later he cancels and will not return phone
calls or e-mails.

WHAT HAPPENED?

He fell back into the Bureaucratic World.

The PULL of comfort from that world has temporarily won
over.

He stepped out on faith and failed...in his opinion.

He did not fail...he just stepped into the
Entrepreneurial World and saw it for what it really is:

"A world where you get paid in direct proportion to
what you GIVE."

Most people who sit at a 40 hour a week job do not
deserve the pay they get at the end of the work week.

The have not PRODUCED more than they have cost the
company.

Network Marketing does NOT discriminate.

I love it because of that fact.

I love it because I get paid in direct proportion to
what I give or do.

That scares the fire out of most Americans.

That is why they quit and quietly shrink back into
their safe, comfortable and predicable Bureaucratic
World.

That does NOT make them bad people.

That just means they are struggling with which WORLD
they want to live in.

You cannot convince them of that.

They have to do that themselves.

That is why it is SO important to stay in contact with
your:

--Prospects
--Current downline
--Former downline

One month last year I signed back up 141 former
downline members with a direct mail campaign.

I had been in contact with them for 6 months...and then
finally dropped the bomb on them that I wanted them
back and would help them.

Some say you cannot RESURRECT the DEAD.

I disagree.

My point is that a former downline member is not dead
until they actually die!

I know there is a FIRE in there.

It is just up to me to help them light it.

Do not think that when someone quits that it is your
fault or the companies fault.

For whatever reason someone tells you they quit, 99% of
the time it has nothing to do with YOU or the company.

It has to do with the fact they miss the comfort of the
Bureaucratic World and they are stressed out in the
Entrepreneurial World.

By quitting, they take the pressure off.

They can stop thinking they are a failure.

They release the pressure of performing.

Especially if they have been in for 3 months or more
and spent $100 a month with no results.

They justify that they have to get out of Network
Marketing to SAVE money.

How funny.

They got in Network Marketing to SOLVE their money
problems, now a few months later they quit due to the
fact that Network Marketing IS a problem.

So, how do you, as someone in the Entrepreneurial World
survive those that drop out and quit?

Simple.

You find more people like you.

It is true that 80% of your commission check will come
from either 1 or 2 STRONG legs...or 1 or 2 STRONG
people.

So, you do NOT have to sponsor the world.

Instead, sponsor as many as you can, and forever be on
the lookout for another YOU!

Someone who can keep a foot in both worlds for a year
or two and not FREAK out and quit.

Someone who understands delayed gratification.

Someone who will listen to a training tape you
recommend.

Someone who will read a book you recommend.

Someone who knows that if they are ever going to change
their financial outcome they have to change their
financial vehicle.

Someone who knows it will take time...and not try to
get rich quick.

That is how I have SURVIVED this industry for 22 years
now and am still making more than any JOB could pay me.

If I find 1 or 2 GOOD people a year that will follow my
advice and actually duplicate me by signing people up,
I consider myself lucky!

Robert really knows what he is talking about ,look him up

Thats so true Andre
we all love to stay in our "comfort zone" and freak out when stepping out of it.
That sure made alot of sense
thanks for a great post!

I've seen the same in my favourite ventures.

It's a bit like giving up paid employment to become self-employed, but instead of trading time for money, like most professional services, you are building up a base of residual income - which will be there whether or not you're around to keep things going.

I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm working on it!

Well said Andre.

Networking marketing online is like stepping out of your comfort zone, you know?

Some people don't like traveling outside their city because they are afraid of what
they might see or encounter or they may not have what they want to expect. As soon
as they have a bad experience, they leave as soon as possible and don't want to
come back.

I work in the hotel industry in my city and some foreign guest that don't travel often
just freak out when there's false alarm or when their reservervation have been moved
to another hotel. They think it's the end of the world, some even cry.

But when you get a business person who have travelled the globe, their reaction to
their reservation being moved is " so, do they serve free breakfast? " basically
shrugging the whole incident as minor.

That's how I picture online mlm or network marketing to newbies or those who quit
way too soon.

Just my 2 cents.
