Owning a forum nowadays is easy as ABC. If you have a paid host account under Linux /CPanel environment, you can easily install Forum scripts which are included in the host package.

If you don't have a host, you can find free host providers and upload availale FREE forum scripts which you can download from http://www.htoscripts.com .

Of course the big question is even if you have the forum in place, do you have your desired internet traffic?

Let me give you a tip. This is what the smart guys have been doing.
They get a free domain name and free webhosting here http://www.practical-living.info/toolslist.php?s_tools_title=&s_tools_cat=3 .

For a free forum with free hosting, they also get it here http://invisionfree.com/ . :)

Hi

Normally, those free host and free domain will have force ads on the site, how about you free stuffs? I prefer to pay for the price of the host and domain since the prices are so affordable nowaday.

Don't mind and no offense please.

You bet , there is always a string attached to a free stuff. It is also true that free domain and free hosting are affordable nowadays. Why acquire for Free services with limited options if you can buy these for a minimal FEE with more options open.

Still Free stuffs are widespread because many opt for these. It's human nature to test the water before making a bold move. And this particular instance where FREE STUFFS come in.

I use to have an ezboard but they globally banned me.

Use a runboard and they seem more friendly to us marketers though they will delete a board if it is all about the marketing.

In my opinion the free boards like www.phpbb.com are good, but nothing...NOTHING compares to www.vBulletin.com and the community of developers they have over at www.vBulletin.org

So many features, possible to build just about any type of site...My site that is currently in the works for our products/services ( www.scripterz.biz ) is 100% vb. :-)

It is very flexible...easy to for newbies to use, but enough options / features / scalability to satisfy any hardcore developer...

So thats my take on forums...

People just like to start with small sum or free resources before they start making money on the internet. Just like me, I started my first website with yahoo geocities and a forum with phpbb, after I have made few hundreds a month income, I switched my site to my own domain and hosting account. If I want to start a forum site, I definitely will choose vb because I know that their supports are good and can provide helps when I need. It's worth to pay for the $$ lol.
