Sounds like a good idea, providing of course you trust the person on the other end of the remote assistance function (I have mine turned OFF).
Each time I connected my "new" XP to the internet, I got the RPC command. The second time I knew where to look for the patch, but even then it took several attempts to connect to get the basic tools downloaded and put in place...
Then I had to update ALL the virus / trojan / key logger definitions and was amazed to find that I had been "gifted" over a dozen different variants and multiple hits (I finally said "delete all" to them when I received what seemed like the 50th virus alert)....
This is not to be scoffed at - I received another Slammer virus the other day - just from viewing a web page.
