View Full Version : The art of using AutoResponders

I have an autoresponder setup at freeautobot. From there I have the small sign up form in a one page website I have setup, you can see it at http://www.ezcashsetup.tk. I'd be interested in feedback at least on that webpage, is it interesting enough to make you want to find out more, does it turn you off and you would rather not even continue reading?

As far as how the autoresponder has worked for me, I have only had 4 people sign-up, 1 of which only bounces, and have yet to have anyone sign-up under any of my programs. I have not done much marketing of the site though, so that may change, we'll see.

Thanks,
Jim

My experience is that I get good results if I write short,
just enough to get them interested.
The best way to find out if it works is to run it for a test.

Here's one of mine. It's a rippoff of one André made in the past,
but I changed it to suit for search engines.
(Don't sign up cuz it's not in use.. )

Hmmm? The link is working for me. Here is the direct link, maybe the .tk redirect is causing a problem?

Try this link. (http://webpages.charter.net/jiml/ptrsetup)

Simpler is probably better, mine is rather involved. I may work on that.

Thanks,

The layout is good, but it is way to much text in my oppinion,
I don't think I would ask for more info.

You want to tease only..

This is just an example of how i would write for something like that.

I think it looks good Jim, you should probably add a
short Privacy statement right below the signup form.

I think many people are conserned about those things.

Just something short and sweet about you not giving a
way any personal information to any third parties.

I hope your leadgenerator will give you Many prospects :D

Thanks Andre, good idea! I made the change. Click here (http://webpages.charter.net/jiml/auto).

It works for me, but I've been told in the past that TK domains
load slow.

I think it looks much better now.
Good luck :)

There is just one thing that is bugging me about this one..
And that is the form, you should put it in a table to make
it more "accurate" if you know what I mean..

Try this code if you want to:
<!---START OF ADD FORM-->
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<form action="http://freeautobot.com/cgi-bin/autores/autores.cgi">
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <div align="center">
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<input type=hidden name="do" value="add_lead_external">
<input type=hidden name="Username" value="jimsemailbiz">
<input type=hidden name="Stop_Status" value="Active">
<input type=hidden name="Cycle_Number" value="0">
<input type=hidden name="Success_URL" value="http://www.ezcashsetup.tk">
<input type=hidden name="Failure_URL" value="http://freeautobot.com/Failure.html">
<input type=hidden name="Notes" value="Added from opt-in form"><br>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<table width="280" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <tr>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<td></td>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<td></td>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; </tr>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <tr>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<td>Name:</td>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<td><input type=text name="Name" value=""></td>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; </tr>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <tr>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<td>Email Address:</td>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<td><input type=text name="Email" value=""></td>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; </tr>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <tr>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<td></td>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<td><input type=submit value="Submit"></td>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; </tr>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</table>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<br>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; </div>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</form>
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<!---END OF ADD FORM-->

Also if you are going to use this on traffic exchanges,
you should do something to capture the interrest of
the surfer..

You can do so with a few easy steps:
1. Add a Bright backgroud color (red is the best)
I have one for you that is very small and will take
allmoust no bandwidth at all from your hosting.
http://www.downline4all.com/images/bg_ezcash.gif
just right click and save this one to your PC, and
upload it to your server. It will make your background
look like it has some small "bumps" (stylish :D )

This will definitelly cach the surfers attention, and
it will not make it look unproffessional.

And the last thing you should do is change your
privacy statement from "I" to "We", as people
seem to trust a company more then a private person.

Ok.. One more thing, just to make the whole thing
alittle more alive.. you can try to create a moving
.gif on your header. Maybe have the text go in a
wave or something? Not irritating much, just a little
movement. I can make one for you if you want to.

ok, I'll stop now.. I think your generator looks good,
I don't wanna sound like mr.knowitall. It's just those
small details that can make a big differense.

I hope this helps alittle

Ps. ezcash.tk loads fast enough on my computer too.

Wow Andre, thanks for all the great info, and that coding! I am using the coding, looks much nicer, and changed the "I" to "We". I know a nice banner would spice it up, I'm not very good at that stuff though, you can make me one if you want, but I certainly don't expect it, you've already done plenty! If you do make one, don't waste a lot of time on it. I appreciate everyone help!! Thank you!

As far as the .tk redirect. I'm not really all that happy with the service, but they do let you have 3 different redirects under one login, which is nice. I have one d4a redirect that I may start to use exclusively. Can we have more than one d4a redirect? If so, can it all be under one login, or will I have to access each one individually?

Thanks again everyone! It is much appreciated!!

Jim

I'm glad you like it.

As for the redirect, i diden't know .tk was a redirect,
I thought you had bought that domain.

d4a.com - You can create as many redirects as you
need, no limits. But you do have to create a new login
for each.

We are however Working on it, and if we can make as
we want to, it will be a Really great thing.

Ps. I'll make a banner for you, I like the one you
allready have, so I will just modify it - Make it alittle
alive :D

That's the other nice thing about .tk, it does look like a real domain someone bought, but it is a redirect. It's the only redirect I know of that is a top level domain redirect, rather than a subdomain redirect.

Thanks again for all your help.

Jim

Edit: Oh yeah, you are supposed to be able to check out detailed statistics on dot.tk, but this is the message I have been getting FOREVER everytime I try to check:

At this moment the Dot TK Traffic Check is not available due to database reconcilation. Please come back later.

So, I am really starting to get sick of the service. I've been "coming back later" for well over a month now, so I think it is safe to say they don't plan to have it fixed any time soon, if ever.

Lene

I am working on d4a.com right now.
If I figure it out you can have subsub domains in one account like this:

http://something.d4a.com
http://no1.something.d4a.com
http://no2.something.d4a.com
..............

At first there wont be any statistics for the subsub domains,
only for number of hits.

Here is the header, I changed the name since some browser
have the spamfilter on with the words "ban" and "banner" as
default.

the name is now ez_top.gif and the size is 2.153K
(it will load very fast)

Hope you like though

Just a quick update here. For approximately the first 30 days I had this autoresponder setup, I received 3 leads, one of which bounced. This was with very little advertising of the site (http://getpaid.d4a.com). Now the site has been revamped with the ideas in this thread, and I have been advertising it at exchanges and what not, and now have received 4 leads in the last 7 days, since June 30th. So obviously better results, we'll see if that keeps up.

Thanks to everyone for the info and advice!

Thanks for sharing your ad ressults Jim.

Do you know how many hits you have received so far?

jim
07-09-2004, 04:05 PM
Not sure on the hits Andre, just haven't taken the time to look.

I have a question. Do you thing this Autoresponder site I have created in this thread is a better tool than lets say a one page website that lists what I think are the best programs? I'm sure you have all seem this kind of site. I'd list only sites that are my favorite and seem to be high quality with an honest webmaster/admin. I'd have short explainations on how they work and maybe why I recommend them. I wouldn't load down the site with 30 programs, but maybe around 10 of the best of the best. Not just PTR/PTC programs either, but traffic generators and other miscellaneous money makers.

Anyway, which do you think is more effectine, the Autoresponder site or site that lists some of the best programs I have found?

Thanks,
Jim

Edit: One reason I like the best program site idea is, I am continually updating my autorespnder e-mails (3 of them), and it is becoming a pain. Where as with a webpage, I can keep everything centralized and updated easier. I just feel it won't be effective, because everyone sees the "Best Programs" sites and probably shrugs them off and go to the next site.

Andre
07-09-2004, 04:23 PM
Personally I think you should stick with the autoresponder,
and rather have a link to a top site in your emails.

Ps. you should really sit down and write more letters, atleast
10 of them. ususally the "sales" won't start untill you have
sent out around 5 mails.

I have some good stats on this somewhere, I'll find them
later and post them here.

it's hard to start up something like that, but when you have
it on the roll and dedicate your self to the task, you will
get ressults. I know it for a fact ;) :)

jim

I've been thinking about this for a bit, and here is what I have come up with.

First let me explain something. My autoresponder basically tells of which sites I recommend, how to setup a autoresponder site like the one they signed up at, then how to drive traffic to that site.

Here is the problem. The longer I am in this GPT world, the more I realize the majority of the programs I am in and even the ones I recommend, are a waste time. Sure, I have picked the ones I have found to be honest on the web, but that does not mean that it might not take you months to reach a payout of $10 or $20 dollars and then more months to actually get the money. So my problem is, currently my autoresponder is recommending sites I myself am losing interest in. That may not be fair to anyone that may sign up under me, which by the way, I have yet to have one person sign up under me after 14 leads from my autoreponder, so maybe it is not working for me anyway.

I am slowly but surely narrowing my list of favorite programs, and I am quickly realizing that most PTR sites are a major waste of time without a huge downline of some sort, which I do not have. So I guess what I am saying is, I think I am going to ditch the autoresponder for the moment, and promote a "my favorite programs" site, since "my favorite programs" list is growing smaller and smaller everyday.

Anyway, let me know what you think. If I do go that route, what kind of recommendations do you have for that type of site. I'll be honest, as I see it now, my favorites list won't be large. I am a member of many programs, but want to narrow that down to less than 10.

Wow, that was a lot of junk I just posted. :D

Thanks,
Jim

Andre
07-23-2004, 08:43 PM
I was hoping someone else would jump in on this
question because I don't have that much experience
with promoting a "top 10" list.

I have tried to think of a good way to promote such
a site.

I can only tell from what I feel about such things,
and the fact is that I have never listen to neither
ptr top 10 lists or traffic top 10 lists.

Infact the Only top ten list I have ever put in my
favorite folder is hostaz.com, we actually found
our host through that site.

I guess a for a top ten list to be successfull it
has to have a really exeptional design, a professional
design with high quality description.

Simple but with the option to "dig in" to the program
further more if I get interrested.

I would also make sure that things like,
Add To Favorites, and a Subscribe to our newsletter
would be Really "hovered" out.

I am not so sertan that pageviews alone is the
best advertising form for a top list, but I'm not sure.

Anyone have any experience with promoting top lists
that they can share with us?

Thanks

Andre

I want to add this..

I just saw your site, it's auto.d4a.com right?

I think how you described everything was
very good, and most important, I beleved it!

A little unusual "ad", very convincing (-good-)

Looks like you have found a good thing, you
should stick to it and just imporove it alittle
Text alignment, a different font perhaps, the
layout is a bit "messy" in my browser.
(I use what the majority use, ie 5.0 and high
resolution on my screen)

What if you added a signup form that would
describe how your prospects could get free
web hosting as well? You could maybe send
the "raw html" for your site and just tell them
to change the referral url's to their own, you
would maybe have a little traffic and income
club going, just a thought :)

jim
07-26-2004, 08:50 PM
Thanks for the feedback. auto.d4a.com and getpaid.d4a.com point to the same place for now, but I am using getpaid.d4a.com to promote. I am far from done with my "Favorites" site, I want to have a few more programs on there before I make other changes, that way I will better know just how the layout should look, if that makes sense. I mean, right now there are only 3 programs listed, if it ends up being 6 or 8, I may have a different idea on how I think it should look.

Thanks again!

Jim
