View Full Version : Opera
I have just downloaded the new version of Opera, Opera 7.50.
I think it's pretty good ones I have customized thetoolbars etc.
to my liking. One minus is ads on the free version.
You can download it here:

(going slow because of massive downloads)

I just read in the paper that the net version of washington post
(or who it was..) gave Opera some bad critics.. The author of
that article wrote that he could not understand how Opera could
ever survive the today market with a browser that costs money
I have not tried the new version my self, but I kind of agree..
There are some pretty good browsers on the market today,
much more then just two - three years ago.., and they are all
free of charge.
Personally I don't mind supporting the 100% Norwegian High
Quality Opera web browser, I know for a fact that some of the
best programmers in the industry have worked on this project,
so the new version is probably a very good browser.
Btw. One of the guys that started up FunCom have made most of
the user interface on the Opera web browser. This guy has pionered
alot of quality Internet projects.
It costs 39 US $, that's not a lot of money if you get a good product
Besides Opera is a free browser with ads (either banner ads or google ads),
so I think he is way off :P
Anyway, I left it. I got too annoyed when I couldn't figure out how
to display the statusbar all the time. I don't think they did a good
enough job with making a user interface easy to customize.
