Hi Barbara,
Thanks for posting that link, it just might help someone.
If you wouldn't mind could you explain what a proxy server is, just in case someone doesn't know, and is too shy to ask. ;)
Is it good or bad.
D.K.

i can give it a try :D
ok, here it goes,
Proxy servers are software programs that act as an intermediary between your Internet browser and an Internet server. They connect to the Internet on your behalf, fetch pages for you, store them locally, and deliver them to your desktop when requested to do so. You are not actually connected to the Internet, the proxy server is.
i hope it helps B)

Thank you Barbara!
I am sure that this will help someone that may not have understood what a proxy server was. You explained it better than I could have. ;)
I knew you could, so that is why I asked for the asistance, again a big Thank-You
for your input. :)
This is another example of how the Downline4All members help one another! :D

Thanks barbara :)
You explained that well.
Id also like to add for any newbies to the PTR world that proxy servers are not welcome on most PTR sites and not welcome on searches too.
I am not sure with PTC sites so if anyone knows can you let us know. Thanks.

Well I am stuck on a proxy in my network...
I know that I have public IP because i don't have problems with P2P software (like eMule or DC++), but I'm always connect via proxy when i'm surfing websites.
Can't do nothing my ISP redirects all 80 port traffic via proxy so it sux hard...
I haven't been kicked out from any PTR (yet), but @ earnings2all (my highest earner) admin wrote something about proxies some time ago. I hope i won't get deleted...

check your http settings in your internet options, you can disable proxy servers there!!

If you cant change the settings and it is a proxy set by your ISP then unfortunately you are stuck with it.
Avoid search emails in your PTR sites if you can.
Also you can contact the PO and let them know that you have a proxy set via your isp and its not a free public proxy that you set up.

The Netherlands is on the approved list of most search engines,
but some advertisers pay only for US/Canada traffic.

Hi
Anyone of the members here know why we need to switch to "use proxy server" in the internet connection, LAN setting option when try to access one of the website. It's a bit troublesome to change the setting everytime I need to access the site. How to solve this type of problem? I try to call my internet service provider before, their explanation is "changing of proxy is the only solution", I don't believe this, can anyone here help about this.
Thank you
