Hello,
I have been an affiliate of a system for a few months and seem to be doing well. I have just registerd a new domain name based around the site am an affiliate of. But im in 2 minds what to do with it i can point the domain straight to the main site or make a site myself to promote the site that am affiliated with.
What do you think is best?
Point the domain straight to the main site using my affiliat link or build a website myself and promote the affilist site that way.
Thanks for your time.
Steven Eaton
It depends on what you are promoting, but in most cases
I would go for option number two. A short page with a form
to your autoresponder.
What are you promoting?

Thanks for the input.
I am promoting a company called Virtual World Direct you might have heard or even be a member yourself.
You can check them out here if you wish. http://www.digitalgoods.tk
The domain i've just registerd is e-vwd.co.uk
I think i'll go with your answer and build a site of my own to promote the site.
Thanks for your time!
Hi,
Yes, I have heard about VWD.
This might be one of the cases where it can work good
to just forward the domain to the VWD site.
At least I have been on that page and inserted my details for
a free chance to win in the past
I think I would have made a splash page with a link to
the free entry to win, to make them join the autoresponder of
VWD.
If the results weren't satisfying I would make my own page
with my own personal autoresponder and sales letters.
There's always different ways to reach the goal. If you find it
to work, keep doing it. If it doesn't, change it.

I think your splash page has a butiful design,
really good work.
I would maybe have bolded the font on your
"bulleted" text. Other then that I think it looks
interresting. I think I would stop and have a
closer look if this was on a traffic exchanger.
You should state somewhere under the banner
that the site opens in a new window as surfers
often don't click if they think they'll be "cicked
out" of the traffic exchanger.
Personally I really liked both the design and
the text, I think it will sell :)

I also added the text to inform surfers about the site opening in a new window.
Thanks so much for your advice & such a great friendly community.
