Yep, that is my largest downline. Hey, I said don't laugh! <_< ;)
That is why I am here though, hopefully that will change. In all honesty, right now I am just as concerned about finding high quality and honest programs as I am getting referrals. I'd rather be a member of 5 or 10 quality programs with average downlines rather than a member of 20 programs with large downlines but most programs have problems like rarely paying, constant downtimes, very long waits on payouts...and so on.

Hmm... looks like Jim and I need a little more luck. :) B)
Don't worry Jim, you'll get them.
It takes time and patience and thats why Andre and Lene created this forum.
So members would have a place to advertise and build their downlines, make new friends, and build a worldwide community working together, side by side building their own businesses. At the same time helping one another, sharing knowledge, sharing experiences and looking out for one another. :) :) B)
I am proud to be a part of that! :) B) B)

Hi Jim :)
Dont worry you will get there! I was in the exact same position as you.
I should say that before I came here I only had 1 person in level 1 of some of my programes and that was pug :) as we friends in real life and started doing PTR.
Dont worry if your downlines are slow to start, they will happen with time.
The downline I mentioned here is in fact one I joined here in the downline builder..its black-emails. Due to the amazing recruitment skills and advertising efforts of a few of the members here, big thanks to Scoville and alu18 to name just two :) they have Exploded my downline!!
so it can happen!
(note to ALL my downline: thank you!!! there are more than just these two mentioned that have promoted the programe so thanks to them all)
And yes it is better to have less programes with good members then lots with nothing hapening, this I know for a fact as I am in many many programes.

Jim,
I can tell you that one active clicker is worth over 1000 signup artists!
I also believe it helps your downline if they think THEY can get ONE active clicker. (The other thing to watch is how active you have to be relative to your downline in order to get credit - for some sites, it's 100%).
I fully agree that being a member of good programs helps ensure that you haven't wasted your time (or that of your downline).
It sounds like you know about most of the major pitfalls! It's far better to be a member of a site with reasonable referral earnings which get paid in cash AND include the cost of the referral earnings in the ad prices.
It's not hard to do the math to figure out which PTRs will have the funds to pay their members - as a quick rule of thumb, if the ad prices are less than 1/4 of the cost to their membership, it's probably not worth joining to earn money - Seeking payout is like to mean a VERY LONG WAIT!
For the record, I'm keen to get evidence about scam site (without getting embroiled in moaning and mud slinging that happens at other sites). We simply want our members to avoid wasting their time.
If we had all the answers and shared them - wouldn't that be great!
Apologies for the digression - back to the topic of this thread.....
Instead of downline size, I look at Manpower Equivalent (ME) - my highest is just over 5 MEs... eg if every member of my downline clicked the same ad I did, then I get paid 5 times the amount of the click! In one program, one of my downline has recruited over 100 people - for me, they are only worth 1% each... so it's as though I signed up one person. They on the other had have the equivalent of 10 MEs - so every click for them is worth 10 times the amount of the click.
"What's the moral of this story?" you ask.
When you look in the mirror, say "I see ME" (just joking)...
I trust there's enough food for thought for everyone reading. You'll see what you tend to want to see. The only thing that really counts is what you learn from the experience of others to help yourself and your downlines!
Best Wishes
Antinomy
