You should go to http://www.symantec.com and download the fix
for both of them and follow the removal instructions.

If you get problems you should talk to vamp, she is very good at these things.

Hope you get it fixed fast..

yuck, that actalert sounds familiar.. I think I have had it too
and removed it with the bazooka tool that Pug has recommended.
You can find it in the post with links to spyware scanners, virus progs
etc.

for adware netoptimiser got here: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...toptimizer.html (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.netoptimizer.html) and follow the instructions :)

for adware clickalchemy go here:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...ickalchemy.html (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.clickalchemy.html)

and follow the instructions

I would suggest getting another anti-virus program like AVG or Avast
both are very good and a lot better than Norton Anti-Virus

For Avast go here http://www.avast.com/eng/download/programs/index.html

I use this one and have found it very good :)

I hope this helps you Andrew.....if you have any problems with this you can PM me and I will get back to you as soon as I am on

Here is the link for the program Lene is talking about....it is very good and should help you remove them http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/

Hi Andrew
I just saw this thread!
Pug and Lene have given the same advice I would of
Follow the instructions very carefully.
Once done I would recomend re-running the virus scanner in safe mode to make sure everything has been removed.
Let us know how you go.

Your Welcome Andrew

I am glad bazooka helped you....it is a very good program

If you keep running that program you shouldn't have many more programs but I do suggest changing anti-virus programs to make sure

Glad to hear all is Ok now Andrew :)

I too recomend changing anti-virus to AVG or Avast (both are free and find more then Nortons)

When you sart your computer before getting onto the internet run Bazooka and ad-aware, once they have finished and you know your system is clean then go online.

Also if you have spyware guard installed it will run in the background and prevent some nasties and manually run spyware blaster. (both of these products are free and prevent the nasties getting in, Bazooka and ad-aware will find and remove the nasties after they already in)

Remember adware, spyware and virus are all diferent things so you must have products that deal with them seperately.
Not one product alone will do the job.
Above all keep the products updated with the latest updates.
You will find links to all these programes here:

It is not only the defenitions Andrew but it is the actual finding of the virus and I have found from experience that AVG has found viruses that were on a system that Nortons never did....and that is with the up to date definitions.

But the main thing is to have bazooka and other spyware scanners so you can get the system clean. I myself no longer use Nortons or AVG I have found Avast so much better for me but that is a personal opinion.

The best thing to do is work with what you know works but you can't find that out unless you try others and see what they have that is better or worse.

I found this information when I was doing a search for your problem....I hope this helps.

Adware Alert – TWAINTEC.DLL

Twaintec.dll is a browser helper object that installs with the Twain Tech adware program. A file called mxtarget.dll may also appear on your system. This is also adware by Twain-Tech. Both programs deliver targeted popup ads. We'd recommend removing these files. To do so, go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and remove "MXTarget" and/or "Twain-Tech". Alternatively, you can remove these programs using WinPatrol. Go to your Active Tasks folder and kill mxtarget.dll and twaintec.dll. Next, click on your IE Helpers tab and remove the files there as well.
