My son and I were discussing the Olympic World Record for the men's 100 meter (as one does on Saturday mornings)... and when we looked up some information on the internet, we came across the following:

Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run quicker than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up and it knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running.

And here is a paraphrase of how he find's focus and inspiration to do his best.

Thank god it's Monday. It's a beautiful day out here. We're not stuck in a dead-end job. We're not stuck in traffic on our way to or from a dead-end job. We're doing something we love with the ability God gave us, so let's have a great practice.

Can anyone guess who said this?

The poem was written on a PC, by a man in bed, by blinking his eye. His name was Ed, and he was dying of ALS, also know as Lou Gehrig's disease. The PC was his only means of self-expression. The Danbury (Connecticut) Area computer society and the New Milford Hospital Foundation provided the system. Ed used infrared sensors to detect the motion of his eyelids. He blinked to navigate through menus of options, common words, and phrases, and letters of the alphabet.

Right?
