View Full Version : Please Help! Urgent!
Hello,
I redeemed for advertising at a PTR site, and used a d4a redirect as the link, it is http://bpe.d4a.com. Check this thread also, http://www.downline4all.com/forums/index.p...wtopic=2729&hl= (http://www.downline4all.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2729&hl=)
Now, what is wierd is, my referral link is http://www.studiotraffic.com/index.php?refid=17750, which is what i plugged into the d4a link. Now, I click on that link and it plugs in a different referral id, the referral id should be 17750, but 13909 is what is plugged in? So I logged on to d4a to check it (had to reset password???), and the correct link is there, but when you go to http://bpe.d4a.com, the wrong referral id is there. I need to get this figured out, I have already e-mails the PTR site in hopes they can help me, but until then, my advertising is wasted on someone else!?!?
Help!
Thanks,
Jim
Ok, this is weird, I just clicked the referral link http://www.studiotraffic.com/index.php?refid=17750 which is mine, and as you can see the 17750 at the end is mine, on the Sign up page it still puts the wrong ID! So I don't think it is a D4A problem but some other problem???
Thanks,
Jim

When i click on http://bpe.d4a.com and then the sign-up page 17750 comes up as referral, what you may need to try is to empty your cookies and you may need to reboot, as you may have an someone elses old referral link in your cookies , it could be the one you may have used to sign up for the program
This is weird, but there actually is a problem with the d4a urlforwarding,
and I would advice you not to use it without testing the urls first.. :(
Let me know how much you spent for ads and I will give you a refund..
I have to investigate this further and give you some feedback.
Your problem is probably that you have a cookie on your computer that
puts in the ID of your referrer.. but I don't get any referrer, which
means for some reason their script didn't put a cookie on my computer
or was unable to take the referrer parameter in some way..
I will test it with some of my referral urls to find out if this is something
we need to do something about or if it is something with their
scripting that they should take care about..
It is very common to use cloaked urls like d4a in marketing to avoid
that other people steal your referrals.
I will get back to you when I've had time to do a little testing.
This is all strange? I'm still trying to figure that out.
Lene, I appreciate the offer for the refund and it shows the integrity of D4A, but I really don't know if I can accept it. Lets figure this all out and we'll go from there. It was only $6 that I redeemed, although that took me like 2 months to get.

Yes, that concerns me, I have the same problem, no referral ID is put in. Something is definitely fishy here, my ad campaign is complete and I did not get one referral, which could just be coincidence?
Thanks,
Jim
One more piece to the puzzle:
According to my Ad stats, I got 1085 clicks on http://bpe.d4a.com. When I check d4a.com for stats, it says 268 hits?
Oh well, live and learn, right. ;)
Thanks,
Jim

I wrote an e-mail to the PO as soon as I noticed the problem. Now the campaign is done and I never received a reply, so there really is no point to contacting the PO now. I redeemed at that site because I was planning to leave anyway, so I will do just that soon.
Thanks,
Jim
Was that a paid e-mail, and did you check the stats only
or the hits on the main member site?

No it was a Paid Banner. But it was 1000 clicks, not impressions. So I should have shown at least 1000 hits, correct?
Anyway, it isn't a big deal to me. I just redeemed $35 at April Golds for an e-mail to 2500, so hopefully that results in some referrals? I didn't use the d4a forward though. :D
Thanks!
Jim
Edit: The 1085 I mentioned above was views, but the clicks were definitely 1000.
Here's an adress André registered that we have used
without any problems:
http://freshleads.d4a.com/
I notice this site works differently from yours, because this one always
passes the ID in the url. Yours places a cookie, .
I'm going to look more at it tomorrow, as I'm going to the city soon.
Sorry for the delay, but I am in my hometown on vacation (-good-)

Aha, then 1000 clicks is what you received.. so you received 1000 hits,
but the 268 is unique visitors. Basically this means that each of these
people has clicked your PTC about 4 times.
This is the disadvantage with PTC sometimes.

Ok, I see what you are saying. What confuses me is, I thought when you go to the "Paid To Click" area of a PTR site, there a bunch of banners. You can only click on one banner at a time, and once the timer is done, the "Paid To Click" area refreshes and the banner you just clicked on goes away. Not only that, I personally clicked on banners in the PTC area a second time and I get the message that I have already visited that sponsor. So wouldn't this mean that the same users cannot click on the same banner, wouldn't all 1000 banners be unique hits? Also, isn't that the main difference between banner impressions and Paid To Click banners? Impressions don't guarantee hits, PTC banners do.
Thanks,
Jim
The owner of the PTR program can decide how often the PTC banners
should be clickable for each user.. Teoretically it might be every
hour in that program, but it's more normal with 12-24 hours.
When you are buying a PTC ad with 1000 clicks, you might get 1000
unique visitors depending on how often users can click on your ad and
how many members are visiting the PTC section.
So, when you are buying PTC, you are buying guaranteed hits, but not
guaranteed unique hits.
If you are buying e-mail advertising you should receive 100% unique
visitors and the stats should show the same.. though they usually differ
a little because of pages not loading etc.
I think Antinomy has experienced huge differences in her stats in
the past, that can imply that the program has a lot of cheaters and doesn't
keep their member database clean.
I've been too busy in the past days to do this testing. I almost haven't
been inside other than to sleep. I'm spending time with my friends and
family now. Haven't been home in a while, but I wont forget you ;)
Thanks for the reply Lene. It is not a big deal to me. It was at first, because it was the first time ever I redeemed for anything at a PTR site, so I kind of panicked when it all seemed to go wrong. I really just wanted out of the program and redeemed for what I could, if I got a few referrals out of it, great. Like I said, not a big deal at this point.
I did redeem $35 at April Gold's for an e-mail ad to 2500, so we'll see how that goes, I did not use the url forwarding though, just the direct referral link. I am definitely knew to redeeming or buying ads at PTR's, and currently it says my e-mail has been sent at April Gold's. It says I have 0 clicks but it was last viewed today at 10:38. So that is confusing to me?
Thanks,
Jim
