If you ever wanted to gain weight, you should live in the Netherlands for a time.
I never wanted to gain weight, I always wanted to loose it.
In this case, moving to Netherlands was not the smartest decision in my life.
I was here very often as I was a child and a teen, but only for 2 or 3 weeks than. I loved the special cacao here (CHOCOMEL, really unique) the bread with chocolate-flakes, and the raisin-cookies and breads, really good loaded with raisins, not as in germany, where they put one raisin inside and call it raisin bread!

ALl those things were worse enough for the line, but when I moved here, I discovered the dutch fastfood - a disaster!

I'm dying for kaassoufflee and kroket, and every household here haves a machine called frittuur. It's basic, and because I want to be well integrated, we bought one, too. Only a small one, but really symbolic and demonstrative it stands in our kitchen to show: We are really dutch people!

A few days ago, a few friends came to visit us while I was busy making some kaassoufflee for me and my spouse. We didn't used the frittuur before but had the deepfreezer full with kaassoufflee. Not anymore...
One of our friends is in the "I don't want anything else than fastfood"-phase. So we came to the idea to make not a housewarming party, but a frittuur-warming party! (-wild-)

So we were sitting until 2 am, eating kaassouffle, kroket and frites and guess what?

We had a lot of fun! :hahaha:

The fun was over the morning after, when my scale (the most hated supply in house) smiled mean at me and showed the results of the party... :newconfuse:

An episode from my weird life, I wanted to share with you all... :D

Much Greetings!

Mine were already big enough before I moved here... At the moment I'm trying to leave all those tasty things away. :(

Ate really healthy breakfast - Kellogs Special K

But yesterday my spouse made again his ultra-famous tasty pancakes, and there I simply can't resist... (-....-)

I"m weak, without any discipline...

Much Greetings from a lost soul... :hahaha:

I think I know what it is.. That thing you can make fries in.. and they are filled with oil? And that is the most used kitchen tool? Doesn't the food get really unhealthy?

I wish you the best of luck with your wedding day..
I hope it meets your expectations and much more.. (-good-)

Yes Lene, when you eat it every day it's very unhealty. :(

I use it aprox 1 time a week.
You can use oil made of olives, thats a lot healthier. :)
But it's not only used for fries.
There are a lot of things you can make in it.
But the translation is very difficult cause I don't know all the worths for it.
i look into it some times.

Rabsonja

Have you ever taste a wiener snitzel out of the frituur???? (-good-) (-good-)

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM,so nice. :hahaha: :hahaha:
Try it some times.

I have a "frityr" (as we call it) in the basement.. I put it there cuz I never used it..
Maybe you can give me some ideas of what to use it for, so I can bring it
up from the basement..

OMG Lene are you sure????? :D
You can put almost anything in a "frityr".
Most common things are:patato chips, french fries, and what we call in the netherlands:"frikandel"I think the most you can compair it with is something like a "hotdog" only you put a frikandel in the frityr instead of boiling water. :)

You know my most favorit in the frityr are little "chicken wings". (-good-)
Once you have taste it you can easely get addicted to those little chicken wings.
Not the most healthy snack for my weight.
I most loose at lot of kilo's.
So no frityr for me for a couple of months :ranting2: :ranting2:

Happy cooking :hahaha: :hahaha:

When do we get the resume from the wedding?

I always put fries in the stove..
But chicken nuggets is really good, and nice to put in the frituur..
Maybe I should make that in the weekend, cuz I've been to Sweden and
bought lots of chicken meat..
I am thinking about going back this weekend, as the tobacco prices in Norway
are so crazy that if I buy the allowed quota of tobacco I already saved lots of money..
If I add some beer and good food, I'm saving a lot of money.. It's a nice way of saving.. lol
