Hello All,

I have just launched a new site today http://www.xcent.co.uk

Any comments/feedback welcome!

The site is for selling and buying website scripts in a auction format i will also be adding categories for e-Books and membership sites ect so if you have any suggestions on what categories are needed then please let me know.

Please don't suggest dvd's ect we are not running an auction site such as eBay or StormPay Auctions.

PS.

The site is 100% free to list your items and will always remain that way!!

It looks good.
By the way, what is CFML?
I guess most scripts will be ASP or PHP scripts.
Maybe add advertising/traffic, design services if you are planning a marketing kind of auction site.
If you just manage to build the traffic you could beat ptbid.com's.. *cough*.. cr.. *cough*..
not too good looking site in a heartbeat.
I think it's hard to build an auction site, especially if you don't have a lot of stuff to sell yourself.
Good luck with it.

HI Lene,

CFML is ColdFusion.

Thanks for some suggestions on the categories and yes that is the type of auction site im building a place for webmasters ect to auction there services. Scripts, e-Books, Advertising/Traffic packages ect.

Keep the suggestions coming.

Hello Andre,

Yes it's 100% free to list and buy!

I have just noticed that you have registered the sign-up rate is pretty good to say i only launched the site yesterday.

If anybody is interested in exchanging link just let me know i don't have any banners at the moment but a link somewhere on your site would be great and in exchange i can either place a link on the auction site or a 468x60 banner in rotation on the site.

Andre
12-06-2004, 05:03 PM
Yes Steven, Lene and I talked about some linking earlier
today. Of course I registered on your site :)

I have not monitored the hits on the new link "scripts",
but I am pretty sure there is a good amount of traffic.
Maybe we can set you up something clever there, it
would atleast be targeted traffic for you.

I must talk more with Lene about this before we do
anything, but we are not uninterrested ;)

I've added a few more categories today if anybody has any ideas what els should be added then please let me know. I have also added a link section on the main page near the bottom so if anyone would like to have there link placed on the main page just send me a PM.

I have just checked to see how many people have signed up to the site and i now have just under 100 members not bad to say i've just launched the site! but the thing that puzzles me is how many has listed anything unless there waiting for someone to list a bargain :)

Andre
12-07-2004, 01:02 PM
That is very good, I guess they are just waiting for the one
thing they are looking for before they start bidding. This will
be great :)

Ohh.. There is one thing you probably should have there, and
that is a "add to favorites" link, just as a little reminder ;)

Andre
12-08-2004, 12:13 PM
Hey hey.. That looks like a Great script! :)

Script-Auction
12-08-2004, 03:20 PM
It did look like a great script but the host im on will not support some of the features and when i contacted them about upgrading there version of PHP installed on the server there said no so i need a new host what host is downline4all using? do you know what version of PHP is installed?

Andre
12-08-2004, 03:29 PM
We have changed our host too, not sure about the name of it.

The host that we have d4a.com served on is http://www.lypha.com,
they have Big value for money, but if you screw things up,
you are pretty much on your own.. (but they will try to help you)

Lene can tell you wich host we have on downline4all when she
comes back.

Script-Auction

Script-Auction
12-08-2004, 03:42 PM
WORKS GREAT!!! http://www.e-vwd.co.uk.

Now to setup all the site and recreate the categories!!

Andre
12-08-2004, 05:42 PM
You should set a blank page on the index at the Xcent domain,
with a redirector to e-vwd.co.uk, that way you wont miss any
traffic. http://www.downline4all.com/tools/redirect.php

Script-Auction
12-08-2004, 06:37 PM
Thanks Andre for the link i'll get right onto that.

The site is now full open for business (again) i've created a couple of auctions to test the server and everything went great!

New site location http://www.scspromotions.com

Andre
12-09-2004, 11:28 AM
I am no expert my self, but if you are going to do any scanges I
think you could change the color to match the blue that has the
majority on your site, other than that I like it the way it is.

Andre
12-09-2004, 12:56 PM
I have just added your website at our script page,
I hope it will give you some traffic.

Lene
12-09-2004, 01:06 PM
André.. lol
Lypha is a ...................... host, because talking to their customer support
is like talking to a wall or getting replies from a robot.
We are hosted by hosthead now. They are not the cheapest, but still a good
price. And so far they have offered excellent and promt support.
If anyone wants to try them out, PM me, cuz I have joined their affiliate program :D
By the way, it seems to me our site is loading fast concidering it is a bit to load, so if
anyone is experiencing anything else, please let us know.

Lene
12-09-2004, 01:07 PM
And I should add, if anyone is thinking about going dedicated,
we might be interested in sharing a server.

It hasn't resolved here yet.
The yahoo bot has been around here a lot lately, so if you're lucky
you'll get it indexed fast if it picks up this thread.

Lene
12-15-2004, 12:48 AM
I wouldn't sell those banner views so cheap if your planning to get a lot of pageviews..
You would get it back tenfolds with compactbanner or google adsense or some other
program if you get page views..
