If you had written a free e-book, what would you do to make sure as many as possible
would read your book?

I would promote it through my signature at all the places I might frequent. Also offer it from my website. I would try and get everyone I knew to spread the word about it. I might even offer a bribe to get people to download and read it. :)

I know that I downloaded a few ebooks from kasaa when I first started on the net.

I am sure I'm not the onlyone, and p2p sites tend to have A LOT of users..
(Just saw that limewire.com has a 2,901 place at alexa.com)
That is a probably very good way to spread the word Lene! (-good-)

Let's try something here and see what we can learn. :)

You have an E-Book that you have written. You would like me to download your e-book and read it. Write a short ad or article explaining why I should download and read your e-book.

It doesn't matter if it is free or not. You pick the subject of your e-book. The idea is to sell me on downloading and reading it. Don't be shy, just try it and have fun with it. :)

I guess I should start things off. :)

After you read the ad please make your comment about it. Would you download the E-book? If so please explain what convinced you. If not please say why not.
Constructive criticism is what we are looking for. Ways to improve on what we write. All this is aimed at helping one another better our skills at marketing. :)

Looking for a vacation that you will remember for a lifetime? If the answer is yes, then I would invite you to come and visit North Georgia & Southeast Tennessee.

This region has some of the most beautiful scenery in the southeastern U.S. The Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and The Blue Ridge Mountains of Northeast Georgia beckon for you to explore their ridges, slopes and valleys.

Picnic in the shade of century old oak trees. Take pictures of the abundant wildlife of the region. You may see the black bear or the whitetailed deer. The eagles and falcons, the song birds galore.

If you are a history buff, you will find much for you too! Visit the great battlefields of the Civil War. Visit Chickamagua Battlefield and read of the battles from the monuments that are abundant there. Visit the museums that house many of the artifacts of the period.

Visit Lookout Mountain where you can see 7 states on a clear day. See beautiful Ruby Falls deep underground, it's a sight you will never forget. As well as the Incline Railway, which is a cable car ride up the side of Lookout Mountain. You will get a beautiful view of Chattanooga, Tennessee from the top of Lookout Mountain.

There is so very much to see and do in North Georgia & Southeast Tennessee. I have compiled an e-book listing the many activities and sites available. I have listed the routes to get there and hours of operation where applicable.

If I was going on vacation in that area, I think I would buy it.
It's just 10$, and if I was to get a book from a store I would have to pay a lot
more.
Also if you could convince me that you know the area because you live there, and aren't just
someone who visited the area for one week to write a book I would be more convinced.

Sorry that I haven't been writing yet, but I will soon..

I agree with Lene on this, it's all about your target so
if I was going there and I found this page I think I
would buy it too.

I think it's very well written Dennis :)

Lene, you brought out a good point about being convinced that I live in the area and just not visited to be able to write the e-book.

That is something I will incorporate into it. Because yes I do live in the area and have for the last 25 years and have personally been to most of the mentioned places.

Thank-you for bringing that to my attention.

This is a fine example of helping one another to improve upon a project. You get someone elses perspective. :)

I know that is what you and Andre had in mind when you started D4A. A place where people could come together to learn from and help one another.

Thanks and may God Bless you both!

Thanks Andre.

I have been thinking very seriously about setting up a website featuring the North Georgia & Southeast Tennessee area for vacationing.

I would also be writing an e-book pretty much like I described above. It would be in my plan to offer a lot of value for a very reasonable price with the type of guarantee I wrote above to make it irresistable to someone considering such a vacation.

There is always room for improvement. I thank-you for your input also. :)

It's always interesting to get to know a part of a culture from someone that lives in the area.
I visited Crete (Greek Island) a few years ago and we were lucky to be able to join some english people we met and some local people for a trip to a restaurant up in a mountain.
It was an interesting experience, though the Raki (local alcoholic drink) kind of made me want to never go back  . It tasted terrible, but we had to drink it to be polite. :p

Teoretically you could take your site a lot further by guiding tourists etc. It really depends how much you want to put into it :)
Let us know if you need help with anything :)

I don't think I would be much in the way of a guide as I am basically a private type of person. I would probably do ok with one or two people but not crowds.

I am also not the type that goes to what are called, tourist traps. I prefer the back country where you see things most people will never see. Get up behind me on my horse and I can really show you some pretty places and wildlife. Cooking over a camp fire and all the other outdoor type of things are my bag. When I am fishing or hunting I am in my element. Man the thought of fresh caught fish is getting me hungry!

I hope I don't sound like a bad person. I have just seen too much of man's inhumanity to man and prefer solitude. To be out in nature, with all it's beauty around me is where I belong I guess. :)

I like people, I am just not very comfortable surrounded by them. Communicating with you over the net is easy, but where you to meet me in public, well I guess I would say, "Look for the man who is off by himself quietly listening and watching, waiting to escape." I usually make friends easily, but they usually have to approach me first. I have often been labeled as a lone wolf, not far off I guess. :)

I think I would be pretty comfortable around You and Andre,Vamp and Barry, I would also feel relaxed around Nicole, I like her pleasant personality. You all, however, might not feel comfortable around me! Some folks feel that I am just too country! I believe that I could show you a side of life you may not have ever seen. That may be just an old man talking crazy though. :)

I am kind of a private person too. I don't mind beeing in a crowd as long as I'm not the centre of attention.
I prefer to be around people, but I guess fishing and hunting is mostly a guy thing..lol

I watched this program on TV (I have no idea what it's called since I really never watch much TV) where some teens were switching parents and going to live with the other person's parents for a while. It's quite a change going from the country to leave in a big city in the US it seems.
