Hi
My computer crashed! I am going to buy a new computer and want to transfer all my files from my present computer to my new one, how should i do that?
Any help would be much appreciated.
If you can boot your old computer you can make a network between your old and new computer to transfer the data.
Or find somewhere you can upload all the data and download it again to your new computer.
If you can't boot your old computer, you must take the hard drive from the old computer and put it into the new one. It depends on what hard drive you have.
How much data do you need to move? If it's not a lot and you are computer ilitterate I suggest you use a backup service and upload everything there. Then download it to you new computer.

Buying a new one might not be the right solution. Foremost is you have to determine the problem. If Power on Self Test (POST) is ok then the problem is on your hard drive or settings. POST is the built in testing mechanism of your PC which checks your PC's memory, peripherals, displays etc.
You better consult your nearest technician. It could be just a minor resitting of cables that is needed to restore your PC.

What I suggested is you bring along your hard drive to the shop where you want to buy the new computer, ask them to transfer the data from your old hard drive to the new one. They definitely will help if they want to do the business.
Hope it help
